Trib Whispers[edit | edit source]

[1] President Obama may be a Steelers fan and close friend of Dan Rooney. But the president didn't schedule September's G-20 Summit in Pittsburgh just so he could catch a game at Heinz Field.

The gathering of leaders of 20 of the world's largest economies will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on Thursday, Sept. 24, and Friday, Sept. 25.

Even if Obama wanted to stay in town for the entire weekend, he wouldn't have the opportunity to see the Black and Gold at home. A quick check of the schedule reveals the team visits the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Sept. 27.

Most likely, most of the other attendees at the global economic summit won't be upset by the news. Much of the globe prefers soccer to football.
